Sometimes yogis practice in weird places.
You can’t really fault us. We just love busting a pose whenever the mood strikes us.
Sometimes we do it because our body is asking for it; sometimes we do it because yoga can be a team sport.
Sometimes our environment inspires us.
After you’ve practiced yoga in some pretty beautiful places, your brain tends to start to connect the dots...
...‘I love practicing yoga, and I love this beautiful place, so why not tie the two together?’ Next, inevitably comes the thought, ‘what other beautiful places do I know of where I can practice yoga’?
The lake is NOT a weird place to do yoga.
We all know that yoga has countless positive effects on our mental and physical health. Know what else does? Nature. Why not compound these positive effects by tying the two together with a paddle leash and maximizing the happy and healthy benefits of each individual factor?
So really, Stand Up Paddle Yoga is a natural progression of yoga: a way to enhance our practice with some elements we want more of, to create an altogether different and special experience.
See? Yoga on the water and in nature couldn’t possibly be any LESS weird! Agreed? Meet me at the lake. Still think its weird? Just remember that people actually do yoga on horses… That’s what I thought. I’ll be seeing you at the lake, too.
